Tips for Creating a Professional CV
Follow these guidelines to make your CV clear, professional, and effective.
Photo: Use a recent, professional-looking 2x2 ID photo (preferably taken within the last 6 months). Avoid selfies or casual backgrounds.
Font & Layout: Use simple, readable fonts like Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman. Keep font sizes 10–12pt for body text and slightly larger for headings.
Contact Information: Include a professional email, phone number, and address. Double-check for typos.
Objective/Summary: Keep it short (2–3 sentences) highlighting your skills and career goals.
Education: List in reverse chronological order. Include school name, address, level (Elementary, SHS, College), strand/course, and year graduated.
Experience: Include internships, jobs, or volunteer work. Mention your role, company/organization, and key achievements.
Skills: List relevant skills (technical, software, or soft skills). Use bullet points for clarity.
Certifications & Trainings: Add any relevant certifications or workshops completed.
Formatting: Keep your CV concise (1–2 pages). Use consistent spacing, headings, and bullet points.
Proofreading: Double-check spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ask someone else to review if possible.
File Type: Save as Word (.docx) for editing or PDF for sending to employers. Make sure the file is not too large.
